TEST TASKS & TRIAL WORK
This work spans from 2021-2022 whilst hunting for my first job in the graphic design industry. These are various types of test tasks and work completed on trial shifts.
3 COLOURS RULE - TEST TASK (AI, PS, ID)
I was tasked by 3 colours rule to create a business card (fake project) to get to the interview stage of the hiring process. They said they wanted the card to look sleek, minimal and elegant. They wanted a tech element to be included as well. The tech element I chose to include was wires and circuits. 3 colours rule liked my designs but they wanted it to be even more minimalist.
BUKMEDIA - TEST TASK (ADOBE XD)
I was tasked to create a landing page based on a fake client "52 books in a year" by Bukmedia. Bukmedia gave me the logo and the copy, the rest was up to me to design. I had never created a landing page before, however they were impressed with my quick turnaround and invited me to an interview. However, I was not hired for this role as Bukmedia wanted someone with previous experience using
Click Funnels.
TEEMILL - TRIAL WORK (ECOMMERCE SITE)
In February 2022, I attended 2 interviews before being asked to come in for a couple of trial days at Teemill. In 2 full working days I completed the tasks following a brief which detailed the company name, colours and values. To create the following work I used their software (Teemill Pro) to make the online store.
TASK ONE - PRODUCTS AND DESCRIPTIONS
I needed to create 6 mens shirts, 6 women's shirts and a bundle for each gender. This was for a fake company called Wavves that celebrate the wonders of the ocean and work on ocean conservation. I also needed to write a compelling description for each to draw customers in.
TASK TWO - CREATE COLLECTIONS
The second task to complete was to create 3 collections, one for each gender and one for new products. These are the pages I designed.
TASK THREE - DESIGN THE HOMEPAGE
The third task was to design the home page. This was the home page I created. I went for a organic/clean theme to align with the values of the company, Wavves.
TASK FOUR - CREATE SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS
The final task was to create a post for their free post weekend, a new product post and a testimonial post. I created these using Illustrator and Photoshop and I feel they are consistent to the companies brand guidelines.
FRESH01 TEST TASK - IAM ROADSMART FLYER
In March 2022, I was tasked by FRESH01 to create a flyer for IAM RoadSmart. They sent me one of IAM RoadSmart's previous flyer designs and I used the copy and brand colours to keep consistency with the brand. However, I changed up the layout and overall design. FRESH01 were really impressed with my work, here is the flyer I created:
